If you have a favorite Step you would like to see on our dictionary send it to us and we will work on getting it added to our Dictionary.
I first learned to clog in 1973 and I didn't realize that there were more than 5 or 6 step patterns until I joined Sugar Creek Cloggers in 1986. Now I realize there are thousands of steps with many having different names for the same pattern.
I have always wanted to have something to allow me to look up the name of a step pattern. This is the start of that. As we collect steps I will probably refine the design of this dictionary but I have to start somewhere.
In order to make the Steps searchable I am going to Standardize the notation so that it consistent. Click on the Step Dictionary link in the menu bar and look at some of the example steps already entered and review the Step Components link and submit your step for the dictionary by going to the page it should be on a basic should be on the B page, Click on add comment and fill in your step there, once we review your step and make sure it is standardized we will add it to the step dictionary.
If you want to search to see if your step exists go to the step dictionary, click on search and type in the search box that comes up you step description (Try typing DS-S(xib)S-S(ots)S(xib)-BaSl, also highlight and copy the step you entered). The search will give you a list of pages that this step was found. Click on that page link and if the list of steps for that page starts getting long you may want to hit Control-F (this is where I paste in the step I first entered and copied) to bring up your find on page screen
I am looking forward to your contributions.
